Shumen is a town in northeastern Bulgaria and is the administrative centre of the Shumen region. It is located on main transport lines like Sofia –Varna and Ruse- Burgas- Istanbul and is only 90 km from the famous beach resorts Golden Sands and Albena. The relief of the region is diverse and is an interesting mixture of hills, plateaus and plains.
